BBL Weekly Review: Volume 10

As the regular season curtain call gets closer and close, the Baltic Basketball League (BBL) continues providing you opportunity to quickly overlook all the main events and spectacular performances that took place in the league in the weekly review.

 

MVP. Jekabpils forward Troy Barnies was named the Most Valuable Player of the month after putting up stellar performances throughout January. During the three this month, Barnies averaged 19.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals, while shooting a solid 52% from the field.

BUSY WEEK. The upcoming week will be the last of the regular season and all the questions will be finally answered, as 14 matchups will be played. 11 of them will be broadcasted live.

STILL CRUISING. Pieno Zvaigzdes have yet to suffer defeat in 11 games. However, they face Prienai in their final game of the regular season – can they finish undefeated?

CONTRIBUTING. Travis Leslie has been a terrific mid-season addition for Siauliai, as the guard averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 20.5 ranking points in two victories.

CLINCHED. 14 of the 16 spots in the eight-finals have already been taken, while the four other teams still have hopes to qualify. 

Just like last time, Joakim Kjellbom becomes the MVP of this edition of the review. The Swede had 14 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks in the Dolphins’ overtime win against TallinnaKalev.

Two Americans fill up the second position, as William Walker and Harvey Grant both had 25 ranking points apiece. Walker collected 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Grant had 18 and 8.

Two Pieno Zvaigzdes athletes finish up the top five, as Dovydas Redikas comes in fourth and Arturas Jomantas ends up fifth on the list. Redikas had 17 points and 4 rebounds, while Jomantas chipped in with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the team’s 11th straight win.
