The Latvians jumped atop of their group with a 4-1 record, while Dynamo are way below, not having won a single game in four tries.
Dynamo Moscow surged ahead already in the first quarter and after a 10-0 run were ahead 21-13 with nearly nine minutes played.
However, Liepaja/Triobet came rushing back in the second quarter and although halfway through they were already ahead by two points, the visitors cooked up a strong end to the quarter and regained a six point advantage.
Four minutes inside the second half, Dynamo Moscow already held a 13-point advantage, but then the Liepaja side finally woke up and managed to trim the gap to just four by the end of the period with the help of an 8-0 run.
The run carried on into the final quarter as the home crowd witnessed their team’s lead grow to double-digits and the Russians were left out of reach.
Lauris Blaus had an impressive game for the home side, as he tallied 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and corralled 12 rebounds. Mareks Jurevicus added 19 points, while Dwayne Johnson chipped in with 18. Edgaras Zelionis picked up a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Alexey Kuznetsov led the Russian side with 15 points, Denis Zakharov added 13 points and 7 rebounds, Tyshawn Taylor helped with 12, while Vladislav Trushkin ended the game with 12 points.
