Nevezis clinches Play-Off berth

KEDAINIAI – On the last day of the Triobet BBL Regular Season, Nevezis grabbed a ticket to the Play-Offs after securing fifth place in Group A with an 82-76 home victory against Port of Parnu in Kedainiai on Wednesday evening.

The hosts led from start to finish and finished group play with a 4-8 record, while the visitors from Parnu could not climb out of the bottom and ended up seventh with a 2-10 mark.


After getting off to an excellent beginning, Nevezis led 18-6 already six minutes into the game. Although Port of Parnu quickly erased the double-digit figure, they were always one step behind.

Leading 44-33 at the halftime break, the hosts allowed the visitors to get within three points in the fourth quarter, but eventually sealed the win from the free-throw line.

Darius Gvezdauskas had 18 points for the winners, the big man in the middle for Nevezis, Mindaugas Kupsas, finished the game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, while Taylor King collected 12 points and nine boards.

For Port of Parnu, Mark Dorris finished with a game-high 26 points, Robert Valge added 17 points, while Paulius Petrilevicius chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
