Nevezis seal the deal early in Liepaja

LIEPAJA – Clearly not the best of nights for Liepaja/Triobet, as they were destroyed in home territory by the visitors from Kedainiai, Nevezis. It was a high-scoring affair from early on and Nevezis ended up dominating 65-94 to seal their second victory in four attempts.

Nevezis started strong and just seven minutes into the quarter, already led by double-digits. Liepaja/Triobet tried fighting back but halftime seemed to be the breaking point. While it was still (just) 14 points separating the two sides after 20 minutes of basketball, Paulius Petrilevicius was just dominant. He scored 9 of the team’s first second half points and that helped them push the margin to 22.

There wasn’t much Liepaja could do to cut the deficit, as possession after possession ended with a basket for Nevezis before it reached a game-high 33 points.

Both teams now stand on the same level in Group A, as they hold 2 wins and 2 losses each.

Paulius Petrilevicius had a very good game today and despite his struggles at the free-throw line, he managed 23 points and 5 rebounds. Ignas Vaitkus contributed 14 points to the cause, while Jermaine Love was good with 12. Karolis Petrukonis and Ivan Smilijanic added 11 points each.

Liepaja/Triobet was led by Davis Rozitis, as he tallied 15 points and 7 rebounds. Lateef Mcmullan and Arturs Ausejs added 12 each, while Ryan Cook ended the game with 10.
