Siauliai fall short in Jurmala

JURMALA - The hosts were not very welcoming, as Jurmala gave its' best on Wedneseday, defeating visiting Siauliai 87-77, thus securing second win in as many games.


With the lead changing hands 10 times, it was surely an exciting match-up, and that was visible from the very first quarter. Although it was Siauliai who had the slight advantage firstly, before the quarter ended, Jurmala had already gotten their noses ahead.

The teams went neck to neck for most of the second and third periods, but the hosts managed to get some distance right before the final quarter, setting themselves up for a 9-point advantage.

The margin soon rose to the mid-teens and Jurmala safely sought out the game.

Ugis  Pinete stood out in scoring with 17 points to his name, while Ervins  Jonats also had an excellent contribution, tallying 16 points. Arturs Strelnieks and Edgars Jeromanovs had 11 points each, as Strelnieks also added 10 rebounds to the cause. Ivars Zvigurs ended the game with 10 points.

Ignas Vaitkus and Donatas Sabeckis were the two leading scorers for Siauliai, scoring 12 points apiece, as Arminas Urbutis added 11. Omar Prewitt ended up scoring 10.
