Tartu showed up ready to perform and just minutes in, they were up ahead 10-2. Although the Latvians had a short response to this run, University of Tartu managed to jump ahead by double-digits several minutes later.
Valmiera/ORDO closed the gap at the start of the second quarter, though they were unable to jump ahead. After a solid end to the half, the Estonian side managed to build a 12-point advantage.
The gap just grew in the second half, as Tartu's offense was clicking at all cylinders. Until the very end of the game, they ran ahead en route to the big 31-point victory.
Janis Kaufmanis had a terrific display despite the big loss, scoring 28 points for Valmiera/ORDO. Viktors Iljins was also impressive, racking up 18 points and 12 boards. Eduards Hazners ended the game with 10 points in his account.
Tartu's scoring was more wide-spread, as six players ended up in the double-digit scoring zone. Leading the group was Kristjan Kitsing with 18 points, whereas Steven Cook added 17. Robin Kivi had 15, while Carl Engstrom finished with 14. The duo of Hendrik Eelmae and Janar Talts chipped in with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
