Tarvas got off to a better start, taking a 19-16 lead after the opening quarter, but the Latvian team rallied back in the second quarter to go up 37-35 at the halftime break.
However, an improved effort in the second half saw Tarvas take the upper hand once again. Led by the duet of Reinis Strupovics and Nemanja Maric, the Estonians went on an 8-1 run spanning the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth to go up 58-51.
Soon enough, there was a double-digit gap separating the sides, with Strupovics draining a jumper to make it 71-60 with under four minutes remaining and Jurmala/Fenikss never recovered.
For the winners, Maric and Strupovics shared a team-high 15 points, while Roberts Stumbris added 10 to go along eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jurmala/Fenikss were led by Maris Ziedins, who finished the game with 13 points and five rebounds, Endru Smits, who also had 13, and Casey Roberts and Edgars Jeromanovs, who both added 12.
