TLU wins Tallinn derby

TALLINN - The Estonian capital derby between Tallinna Kalev TLU and TTU ended in an important win for the hosting TLU, who got away by eight, 80-72.

The two sides were all level after a back and forth first quarter, stuck at 24 points apiece, but it was the hosts running off in the latter half of the second period. After mounting a 12-to-nothing run, they were already up by 16 to end the half.

TTU couldn't manage to make any tangible changes to the game, despite cutting into single digits several times. Before the final period started, they faced an uphill battle, being down 9 points.

The visitors didn't have too many chances to come back, as TLU would respond to every basket they conceded - with no much more drama, the game finished 80-72.

Bamba Fall had an outstanding game, racking up 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field and also added 12 rebounds to the boxscore. Kristo Saage was also solid, knocking down 6 three-pointers en route to a 19-point performance. Reimo Tamm ended the game with 15.

On the other side, it was Martin Giese doing the heavy lifting - he tallied 21 points and 8 rebounds. Toomas Raadik added 16 points to the tally, while Oliver Metsalu and Norman Kabin ended up with 10.
