Triobet BBL Weekly Review: Volume 4

There were only four games in Triobet BBL action last week, as Valmiera/ORDO extended their undefeated run, while TLU Kalev, Jekabpils and Tarvas also celebrated wins. Let’s take a look back at the outstanding performances of the week in another volume of Triobet BBL Weekly Review!

UNSTOPPABLE. Although Valmiera/ORDO recently suffered the team’s first loss of the season in the Latvian league, the team’s undefeated march in Triobet BBL continued with a 70-64 road victory against Nevezis. Ervins Jonats was close to a double-double performance in the win, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds.

HOME COURT. Three of the four games in Triobet BBL this week were won by visiting teams, with Jekabpils’ 77-69 win against Jurmala/Fenikss turning out to be the lone victory for the hosts. Led by Rinalds Sirsnins, who scored 20 points and dished out a nine assists, Jekabpils broke away in the fourth quarter to improve to a 2-3 record.

FIBA EUROPE CUP. It was a good week for Triobet BBL clubs in the FIBA Europe Cup, as four teams snatched up convincing wins, with only TU/Rock falling short 61-63 against Khimik. Juventus registered its first win of the campaign with an emphatic 94-59 thumping of ETHA in Cyprus, Pieno Zvaigzdes defeated Helios Suns 80-71, Siauliai destroyed Inter Bratislava 116-80, while Ventspils got the better off PGE Turow, winning 92-76.

STILL WITHOUT A WIN. Although Andrew Warren received the October MVP award before Port of Parnu’s game against TLU Kalev, there was not much to celebrate for the Parnu crowd once again, as their team slumped to another defeat. Warren had his worst game of the season, scoring nine points on 4-of-13 shooting, as Port of Parnu lost 74-81, dropping to 0-3. They will have a chance to earn their first win against the also winless Barons/LDz next week.

TOP PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK. Lithuanian forward Paulius Petrilevicius had an excellent debut for Port of Parnu, as he scored 20 points, grabbed eight boards and dished out four assists for a total ranking of 29, which was the best performance of the past week.
