Pieno Zvaigzdes were down by 31 at one point in the first leg, but their second-half performance helped bring the drama back into the series, as they faced just a ten point deficit.
It was sure to be a nail-biting affair, as the two sides didn’t let the other take control. Pieno Zvaigzdes were in front by one after ten minutes. The visitors kept nabbing points away from the deficit and at halftime it was just a 6-point cumulative lead for Valmiera.
Pieno Zvaigzdes opened the second part of the game with 4 consecutive points and were down by just two in the series. Nevertheless, Valmiera soon jumped ahead and the visitors were on the outside looking in with a combined deficit of 11 before the final quarter.
Valmiera was in control of the series throughout the fourth quarter, and will now face TU/Rock in the Semi-Final.
Arturs Berzins came off the bench to score 17 points for Valmiera, while Martins Laksa added 15. Mitchell Kwamain ended the game with 12, as both Armands, and Aigars Skele had 10 points to their names.
Andriy Agafonov led the Pasvalys side with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Derrick Low added 13 points and 6 assists to the tally. The trio of Zygimantas Skucas, Steponas Babrauskas and Jokubas Gintvainis all accounted for 11 points in the game.
