There was nothing separating the two clubs during the first ten minutes, as the visitors were up by just one. However, a 15-4 run allowed Valmiera to reach a double-digit advantage. Nevertheless, that margin didn‘t last long and with the help their big men‘s solid play, Nevezis were back within four before halftime.
Valmiera/ORDO regained momentum in the second half and were once again on the verge of a double-digit margin after three quarters.
With a strong start to the final period, Valmiera improved the lead to 14 and were in good form to take the victory. When it seemed to be all but over, Andrius Aleksandrovas knocked down two long-range shots in half a minute. Nevertheless, Valmiera clinged on to the small lead and managed to go out on top.
Ervins Jonats led Valmiera in scoring with 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Martins Laksa and Haralds Karlis added 11 apiece.
Saah Nimley and Andrius Aleksandrovas were the top scorers for Nevezis, finishing with 14 points each. Mindaugas Kupsas added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, while Simonas Kymantas was efficient with 11 points in 11 minutes.
